Whatever you can do, we can do better? Exponentially so?One of the most effective strategies to to defend yourself against the emergence of a new competitive product is to ignore it. In fact if enough incumbents in that market exercise that strategies the new start up usually withers on the vine until final predictive failure.
There are those that say that any speculation as to this being applied to YFI is ill founded an exempt because YFI is only an idea and doesn`t have an existing scale wifi chip for licensing and adoption. Hence, why would even major standard bodies address it. Besides, being a non member of the WFA, they would not even address it in terms of conformance to standards,
So, let`s play hypotheticals here and imagine a scenario whereby YFI actually achieves scaled production of their proposed Wi-Fi7 chip this year.
YFI has long claimed that its technological offerings will meet the existing Wi-Fi Regulatory, and Conformance standards so that should not pose as a future impediment for their technology. However, unbeknown to many the industry in roughly 2023 finally decided that in its wisdom it should build a framework for Standardized Wi-Fi Performance testing. I am sure that this comes as a surpise to many because they either assumed it already existed, or erroneously they assumed the WFA performedthis in their role of Wi-Fi conformance testing for their members. YFI is not a member. Apart from this, all small, medium, and large sized sheep just assumed that what was written on WFA member product boxes in terms of performance was the real world standardized gospel truth. We are witness to that onthis forum.
Why am I even mentioning this? Well, for a start maybe some sjeep might find it in their future interest to learn exactly where the tires meet the road as per companies wi-fi hardware, and software claims re: wi-fi performance as determined from the efforts of different major standard bodies.
