RE:QRRI think all those folks calling posters asking reasonable questions or pointing out facts as "bashers" should be able to answer that question for you before you start associating QRR with "dead in the water".
Let me help them start, and then they can clarify it for the rest. There is PUREVAP NSiR for production of nanno-silicon and PUREVAP QRR for the transformation of quartz into high purity silicon metal. I believe the NSiR has been talked about in the latest interview with the experience being described by BT as a "complete failure". That would be consistent with the value of this technology being written off the books.
Pumpers can correct me if I am wrong, but on the QRR front, I believe BT stated that there is more economical feedstock currently available on the market, so there is no need to employ that technology yet. Keep in mind the investment needed into a PUREVAP QRR plant.
Over to the pumpers or "poster bashers", but I think they will not be able to provide you a better accurate answer. It may be a different one but I am not very good at or willing to make stuff up.
