RE:Re: income tax assets greater than the value of the SPYes, it looks like the Sentgraf/Southern family owns 16% of Akita. Back when the share price was $20, it would have taken almost $700 million more for the Southern family to buy the rest of Akita. Therefore, they have a special group of voting shares that they hold. But right now it would only cost them $73 million to buy the rest of Akita, even at a 50% premium to the current share price. And since Sentgraf owns more than $1 billion in Atco stock, it would be very easy for the Southern's to purchase Akita at this very low price.
The only large insider trade in the last 3 years was a 1.6 million share purchase by the then CEO of Akita, Linda Southern, in 2022 for about $1.50 per share, about the same price as now. This should give shareholders confidence that the current share price is very low. In fact, if anyone had 500.000 shares or more to sell at the current price, I am sure that the Southern's would jump at the chance to purchase them.
