That said, we need to put Canada's contribution from the oilsands into perpective.


Data I have seen is that the oilsands produced about 70-80 megatonnes of CO2 in 2023.  This compares to China at 540 (7-8 times as much!!).  So unless these big producers of CO2 stop doing what they do, the battle against climate change is not going to be won by punishing the Canadian oil industry and specifically the oilsands.

Justin is all about virtue signalling than doing the right thing for Canadians.  IMO he should take a chapter out of his Dad's book when during the Constitutional Negotiations in 1982 Pierre stood up after the Premiers were getting out of hand and asked "Who here speaks for Canada?"
