after the melt down and looting N that area ~1990's ? he partnered w a guy..  they went around and purchased what is called "Wet Coal"/  these were piles & piles of coal on the surface that had not been sold and were wet.  they started selling this coal to residents in the area off the bak of pikups..  the residents were un-employed N a depression as all of these mines were closed after being looted for cash on hand..  agg sector had the same fate and fields were not cultivated...  when vlad left - around premaidan..  their enterprise employed over 60,000 people..

vlad is a russian..  educated in swiss land and probably has close ties to the old communist party sistem @ the family level...
