Battery Venture Inovation Partnering

Battery Venture Inovation Partnering
Raj will be speaking at the third annual Battery Venture Inovation and Partnering Conference.

Join us for the third annual gathering of senior-level investors, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and start-up leaders, from the battery tech and energy storage space.

Panel Topics

  • Government and private sector investment, driving innovation across the energy storage value chain
  • Innovation and Investment in minerals and raw materials sourcing, extraction and processing
  • Commercialization of novel battery chemistries & innovations in alternative cell chemistries
  • Surging investment in solid state technology
  • Cell manufacturing investment – a continuing trend
  • Recycling, the next pressing need for investment and innovation
Now,  Why would Electrovaya be out looking for more development money?  They are already tying up the ribbons on the loans needed to get Jamestown cell manufacturing up and running.  They must already feel the need to further expand.  Business must be really good!  I am trying to think of what and where they would expand.  I think it is too early for the SSB expansion to be in play as the R&D continues to struggle with repeatability of construction of the new cells.
I am thinking they are looking at phase 2 of Jamestown expansion.  First Electrovaya has submitted paperwork for a US Government grant.  By the time this comes to fruition phase 1 will be well on the way to completion.  Second the US would not grant money to be used outside the US, so Jamestown is the target for the phase 2 project.
The second need for expansion money is Japan (Asia).  Electrovaya has an existing partner that is producing the cathodes in Japan.  This partner is also producing the ceramic seperator for the Infinity cell.  The cells are toll manufactured in China ?? I think??  So all it would take is to install a cookie cutter copy of the Jamestown cell manufacturing process.  This would most likely be a Joint Venture with the existing partner.
Any way Electrovaya is going to this conference March 13 and Raj is spaeking.  Good Luck to all Longs !
