Nostalgia time …why not lol I read a lot of off topic nonsense on here. Sometimes an attemp to be relevant, yet lots of imagination required.
On that vein my turn for some off topic random fun.
Take some time & check out my profile?
I have been on Stockhouse since Dec 30/1999.
Also known as two days before the Y2k , expected meltdown!
im not exaggerating. The computers of that vintage only had 2 digits to express datss. So /99 would roll over to 00.
The programmers iof the time ( BTW internet was very new & requiring a service provider & most likely dial- up).
Cell phones? Analog flip phone if at all. Apple was trading close to $1 & looking at bankruptcy.
so, yes I have been around. Actually my very first stock trade was Chrysler. That was 1978.
One thing I used to enjoy & still available online. The hamster dance.check it out. Just innocent fun.
stockhouse & me?
We were in preparation hoasting a dinner party for the great Y2K event.
A friend of mine, introduced me to Stockhouse.
We enjoyed the opportunity to post & see our stuff in real time.
Quite the thing back then.
i have " met" a few people via one- one in box. Leading to emails & phone calls.
i get a kick out if the FUDster halfwits , using mutiple handles. That being on here & other sites.
im straight up. Same handle on all sites, never changed in 24+ years.
Quite frankly, I don't care if you think highly of me or not.
Back to Onc.....
It has been a very long journey. Only word I can find that fits.
People go on & on about share issues & dillution.
Again I have yet to hear a proposal thst is better?
Give them credit where due. Oncolytics Biotech is still around!
Yes they changed direction. Originally as a single agent cancer treatment.
Now , great advances as co- therapy.
respectfully much of the science. DNA sequencing for example did not exist ( in its present form 20+ years ago)...ONC has moved with & alongside changing technology.
When Onc was incorporated, " albums" still existed & slowly replaced by C.D.s
My point. Some like to yammer on about " nothing accomplished in 24 years, why should they now".
They are still here. Stronger than ever with Roche, Incyte, & others in co- therapy trials.
All of the history aside ( CDs not coming back, albums somewhat)
Oncolytics biotech has never been this close yet so far from their original goal: getting Pelareorep approved.
The phase two data on pancreatic cancer treatment was awesome. Yeilded very fast FDA approval to proceed with s phase 3 trial.
Now? They need $$ to fund that.
They have said more details first half of this year.
My story does not change.
buy- out, partership or some restructuring involving interesting financial models.
The ATM can not suffice to get to a phase 3 trial.
I'm not bashing. Quite the opposite. Moving forward anything is possible.
consider this: I remember being in a record store. They had rows & rows of albums.
One special section. The new magic digital technology called CDs. My friend said " imagine a store with only CDs"?
seemed silly, unimaginable & unpractical @ the time.
Not only did CDs dominate, but they too were eliminated by download technology.
Cancer treatments in that same timeline has gone through mutiple discoveries, Some now considered archaic & pass.
The Virus based cancer treatments is in the big picture, quite new.
onc took off Y2k ish, because it was discovered early that Pela only replicates in cancer cells.
allowing systemic I.V. Injections.
Pela finds the cancers!
now, to prove it can work with Roche, enough for them to buy the company.
hance the trials.
Sure glad I did not invest in CD/ music stores.
