Now now boys, let's not get into anything here. While I surely need not stand up for Frankie, I will say this. He is young(er) he is smart and certainly knows his stuff and he is also a " lifer" ie is in it for the very long haul. As such, you accumulate at the bottom. 

As smart as you appear, I am sure you can get onside with this. There is no loss if not realized. This is how generational wealth is built.

Personally, I apply a little more of a hybrid model. Have longer term core positions while I trade for fun, sport as well as capital growth.
