Business aircraft utilisation ++++

Business aircraft utilisation ++++From CIBC aerospace weekly

Business Aircraft Utilization Remains Up Y/Y And Above Pre-pandemic Levels

Aviation Week published business aircraft utilization data from December 2023 – February 2024.

Looking at the different operators, NetJets, Flexjet, and Vistajet saw utilization rates in the past three months better than the year prior and above pre-pandemic levels. Wheels Up and flyExclusive, however, saw utilization rates down Y/Y but still above pre-pandemic levels. Looking at operator classes, fractional operators led in the growth of utilization rates - up 6% Y/Y and up 39% vs. 2019 for the three-month period. This is followed by non-scheduled airlines with a 5% Y/Y increase in utilization and up 29% vs. 2019 levels. Aviation Week noted that the total hours for corporate operators – largest of the four classes – came to just under 880,000 hours during the three-month period. This is down 2% Y/Y but 9% above prepandemic levels. Fractional operators remain a key growth driver in the business aviation industry.

Note from Tempo1:
Flexjet utilisation 3 months is +17%  Y/Y    ( a big order could be pending)
Vista Jet  3 months utilisation is +40% Y/Y  ( an WSF negative article about the supposed weak financial position of Vista with a misunderstanding caused a 7% drop to BBD in January)
