The traditional belief of BNN and pundits suggesting dividends above 6% is excessive is false. We need significant dividends to compel firms and investors to continue investing in the sector. Canadian E&P companies must do their part to attract foreign investment to support a healthy and vibrant sector of the economy. This is the greatest weapon they have against the attacks from Ottawa and foreign NGOs. Make the sector an absolutely compelling investment that can't be ignored.
