Game theory suggests the best remedy for this is for Samir to appear inconsistent, incoherent, and irrational, while in fact adhering to an intelligent strategy of aggressive repurchases. Drag your feet a little while buying back the first couple million units, then pause the NCIB for a few weeks for no apparent reason. Wait for the unit price to crater back closer to $6, then rinse and repeat until the NCIB is completed just in the nick of time in late fall.
This strategem has the further benefit of eliciting a flurry of panicked posts from Gary Reins when the NCIB is paused.
