You're probably right that Well Health was likely contacted before the deal with Beedie was struck. Regardless, given how badly WELL's stock was hit post earnings today and also looking at some of the company's updated strategic priorities it seems unlikely that they would put in a superior bid for THNK.
Also as an aside it looks like both Echelon and Desjardins have officially dropped coverage of THNK and both have commented in their most recent notes that Beedie is simply in too strong of a position for another bidder/offer to materialize. What floors me is that THNK's management repeatedly drew down on the Beedie facility even when they knew a sale of the company was likely (and the Board let them do it). Call me crazy but it sure smells like collusion between management and Beedie – Beedie is put into the position of having significant influence on the company and thus buys THNK for a rock bottom price. Meanwhile management gets to keep their jobs AND shares!
