This may not make sense if you are not familiar with the various trades available on the market however I will chance it and explain what I have suspect we have been seeing.
IMHO there have been certain groups involved with trying to suppress the Cannabis Sector and delay or prevent the Legalization of Cannabis in the US. These "groups" have been using short positions and bogus trades to push down the shareprices and deter investors from coming in and motivate others to sell, even at a loss.
I would suspect these groups include Big Pharma and BM players, both stand to loss money if Cannabis should progress and certainly even more if investors buy shares in these companies and opt to hold long-term rather than day-trade or sell early.
With Germany Legalizing and Kamala Harris Speaking on behalf of Cannabis these "groups" are being proven wrong and that, in all likihood, Cannabis will progress to full legalization within the US despite their best efforts to drive investors out.
Big Pharma will need to ramp up their investments in these sectors, adopt Cannabis as a medical option for those who want it and embrace the change which is coming and will be unstoppable.
Black Market players will go the way of the dinasour and will fade away as did the rum-runners of the 30's.
You can fool most of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Those who held firm to their Cannabis Investors did the right thing IMHO as the sector is heading to a Global Market with the US likely being a key mover sooner than many may suspect.
