Whitecap Resources Inc. is an oil-weighted growth company. The Company is engaged in the business of acquiring, developing and holding interests in petroleum and natural gas properties and assets. Its core areas include the West Division and East Division. Its West Division is comprised of three regions: Smoky, Kaybob and Peace River Arch (PRA). The properties in its Smoky region include Kakwa and Resthaven, all located in Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Montney resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. Kaybob is located in the Fox Creek region of Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Duvernay resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. The PRA is its original asset area. RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:WCP is a huge laggardI agree with the sense of a reward that receiving a dividend provides.  What I also like is that I believe it helps keep management accountable to shareholders.  To maintain/increase a dividend, they have to keep their pencils sharp and always keep an eye on the bottom line.  It also serves as a very good positive feedback loop.  By paying shareholders a decent dividend, shareholders can choose what they want to do with the cash they receive.  Personally I think they are doing a very good job, and therefore using every opportunity to reinvest. 

Lots of chatter this morning by market pundits that energy/oil likely has a good few years to run.  All good with I think quite a bit more room to run.

tollycraft wrote: I like the way you think, and do agree with you.  It will be interesting to see if their going to bump the divi or plan on bigger buy backs.  Although I prerfer a dividend increase, bupming up their buy back program will help certainly help share value.  I guess the dividend always is encouraging, it FEELS more like a reward for your investment and is definitly a more tangible return.  I put it back into shares anyways.
