Sage - while most of us here have been constructive on O&G and the province of AB, the general public is only now catching a whiff of the waffles cooking and that jug of maple syrup on the table.
I think we are going into scenario where many businesses that have been extremely "oversold" are now starting to look investible again, maybe even garner a slight premium once oil has been $80+ and reality has set in.
It's the mind-state of today's money managers. They struggle to find balance between value and virtue. It was easier for them to deal in TSLA shares than it is for them to buy SU at 4x forward cash flow.
These guys are now starting to run cash flow models at $80 oil and trying not to fall out of their chair backwards when they see the results.
From out of favour to the bell of the ball.
Just my guess. Will take a few years.
Stock market is just a giant popularity contest, most people don't bother to figure out valuations.
But they track momentum the same as angry birds snapping up worms at 430am!!
