RE:This is just dead money for awhile...The electric fiasco is just that...a fiasco. The push to electric tho is a long term phenonoma and will proceed with or without government prodding. Technology works seamlessly with electric motors for the creation of true driverless cars...but in the meantime if the sector is in a funk alot of it is self inflicted.
I can look down my street and see half a dozen neighbors, myself included who would dearly love to replace an existing vehicule...but we do not. Why not...PRICE..
Dealerships , after covid have discovered the secret sauce...a shortage of cars keeps prices high indefinetly. One shortage after another, chips, transport,labor...you name it ...they just keep coming and all the while the dealership lots are empty, while produced autos are stashed in holding lots to keep the pretence up. We are expected to pay over list price and get put on a waiting list just to get a car.
In the meantime the industry fights to protect its turf, keep imports out, give some mouth watering wage gains to workers.. yet I could go to Brazil and buy some magnificent vehicules at extremely attractive prices.....not here tho!
Bring the price down...not even by that much...just stop the gouging...the demand will surprise you..and it would be good news for the entire industry..parts manufacturerrs included
