RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:ConfusedI have to agree with purebulls. My story is a bit different on why I still love this stock and continue to invest on the dips. I have been in this stock from the time before the Anconia reverse takeover. Historical drilling data related to this past producing gold mine was scattered throughout the internet showing that there was more to this property that was not tapped into by past companies during difficult capital financing times. It peaked my interest and I started to do more DD on this property before starting to invest.
Mario Stifano (CEO & President in 2020 & 2021), brought Omai to the reverse takeover and secured financing to start moving this project in the right direction. This was Mario's strength and was connected to investment dollars as he demonstrated. Mario was very instrumental in the finacing part of this project, but after Mario moved on to his full-time role as CEO at Galantas Gold Corporation, Omai already knew they needed the experience of a seasoned geologist to bring this project to where it is today. As Elaine was already on the Board of directors of Omai and a seasoned geologist along with Renaud Adams as chairman of Omai board, with past experiences working together and were instrumental in bringing Richmont Mines to a buyout stage, I knew the pair together could bring this property to another potential buyout. After Renaud Adams resigned as the chairperson of Omai to pursue his new role of CEO and president of IAMGold, but still wanted to be on the advisory board of Omai I still felt that this property had much more to over. And here we are today and this property continues to impress me!
Another note: Mr. Adams has 25 plus years of experience in the mining industry and was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of New Gold Inc. – roles he has held since September 2018. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Richmont Mines Inc. from 2014 until the sale of the company to Alamos Gold in November 2017. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Adams was the Chief Operating Officer at Primero Mining Corporation, and prior to that he was with IAMGOLD Corporation from 2007 to 2011 as the General Manager of the Rosebel mine in Suriname. He also had access to IAMGold's past Omai data because of IAMGolds connection to Omai Gold mine in the late 1990's and early 2000"s which gave hime a very good understanding of geology of Omai property along with Guyana in general. Mr. Adams obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining and Mineral Processing, so with the partnership with Elaine I knew the pair were onto something potentially really good. So their partnership connection has encouraged me to invest.
Although, I feel that shorters have had a part in push the stock price down, seeing the stock rise to close to 400% over the last 6 months has some investors taking profits which has caused some unseasoned investors to run scared and sell. There is lots of data to do your own DD on, so I am on the side of holding with the odd bit of selling as other investors are doing. The stock price should level out and start to rise again, so I guess we just buy on the dips. Many investors seem to sell on news because they don't understand what the news means. Thats ok because it is healthy to have a bit of selling, although keeping the stock price high feels better. GLTA
