AACR24: double-stranded RNA that mimics viral activityApril 08, 2024 - a double-stranded RNA that mimics viral activity, thereby stimulating the immune response, turns cold prostate cancer cells hot.
By comparison ONCY's oncolytic virus pelareorep is a double stranded RNA virus and the following work confirms what ONCY's pelareorep has been demonstrating in various cancers including metastatic pancreatic and breast cancer. The Icahn Mt. Sinai Phase 1 clinical trial using an investigational immune modulator Poly-ICLC is the first-in-human clinical trial to demonstrate that intratumoral-immunotherapy is feasible for Prostate Cancer and that Poly-ICLC treatment can reliably transform the cold microenvironment of prostate cancer into a hot, immune-enhanced ecosystem.
As with ONCY's pelareorep clinical trials, notable in the Goblet-1 and Bracelet-1 studies, baseline and response biomarkers, TLS, potential clinical benefit, and immunologic correlates were identified.
