I read that the entire Guyana Sheild which extends well into Venezuela and Brazil and even goes into Colombia is loaded with precious metals and gems like diamonds. Like the Canadian Shield in Canada.
In Venezuela we have a town called El Callao, famous for being able to buy gold at a steep discount, right in the gold and diamond producing areas. The locals in the area go out and find the gold. I imagine that the same is happening in Guyana. What's gold going for now, discount? $40 per gram, maybe more? It's great money for the local folks. Supposedly the Guyana Shield is as unexplored as the Canafian Sheild was 100 years ago. Might see a lot of core drilling activity by mining companies in Guyana like there used to exist in Venezuela before the commies took over. Especially if they continue to build more roads. Where's thst aggregate come from? Crushed up Guyana Sheild granite?
