Mikee3003, thank's for responding to my post.
I am glad you are doing fine.
You seem to be saying that blood cancer is not difficult to treat and that there is numerous effective/safe treatments for blood cancer.
As we speak Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy are two of the most used treatments for blood cancer.
-Chemotherapy with a long list of side effects( including death) is not what you could call a pleasant treatment especially for older patients.
-Radiotherapy is also used for blood cancer, in spite of its many side effects Radiotherapy show remarkable results in younger patients, but patients above 60 years hardly respond to the treatment.
-I did not mention Immunotherapy and stem cell transplantation, because Immunotherapy is new and need more researchs to safely treat blood cancer patients, and stem cell transplantation is to complicated for older patients.
In short ..
Mike3003 in spite of the fact that you did respond well to chemotherapy(although you mentioned in your post that you needed multiple maintenance chemotherapy treatments), most blood cancer patients usually take Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy because of a lack of better treatments.
Note;
Mikee3003, for information purpose only(some people on this board could use that information), can you name some of the numerous effective/safe treatments you talk about in your post(treatments approved by the FDA).
One thing we can agree on, is that much better blood cancer treatments are badly needed.
If you can't name the numerous/safe treatments you are talking about in you post,I stand by my original post and Dr.Mandel(
and my highlited quotes).
