I like it when somebody says: "I don't want the Feds to spend money on industrial projects..." but constantly clamour that "Canada should do this", "Canada should do that"..."we should be exporting this or that"....who is supposed to be this "WE" if not the Feds when industry won't do it? Blaming "regulation" for industry's reluctance to build infrastructure is a red herring....we have "regulation" because citizens demand some control. That's democracy.

Germany has not yet built an LNG import facility...it leased some floating units for regassification of LNG imports. It would have been foolish for Canada to use floating units, if they had been available, because there were no pipelines of adequate size to tidewater anyway. Pipelines take YEARS to build...Just ask TC Energy (Coastal Gaslink) !
