OCG's Breakthroughs in Gravimetric Concentration Testing Outcrop Silver & Gold (Ticker: OCG.v or OCGSF for US investors) recently unveiled advancements from gravimetric concentration testing conducted at its Santa Ana Silver project.
Encompassing 27,000 hectares in the Mariquita District, the Santa Ana project boasts some of the most exceptional historical silver grades in Latin America. Its inaugural resource estimate further underscores its potential, with an indicated resource of 24.2 million ounces silver equivalent at a grade of 614 grams per tonne.
The tests were designed to amplify already high recovery rates and showed success in extracting silver and gold through mechanical processes before conventional flotation processes.
Utilizing gravimetric methods alone, OCG achieved a 7% silver recovery, complementing its existing 93% recovery rate via flotation. Meanwhile, the gold recovery rate through gravimetric methods reached 30.52%.
Overall, the gravimetric concentrate yielded 2,883 grams per tonne of silver and 164.12 grams per tonne of gold.
These results signify a leap forward for the Santa Ana project, solidifying its status as one of the premier primary silver plays globally in terms of grade.
