Thanks for the tip.
Now, for the sake of argument,  I'll use Russian currency as an example.
All I need is a calculator to figure out that approximately 92 rupels to a dollar multiplied by the price of gold at the NY close comes out to about 211,000 ruples. All well and good.
But first off, the U.S. has sanctioned Russia so how can we know what they buy and sell gold for.
I doubt it's based on the London Fix and bought in Switzerland.
Just food for thought. I have a little trouble accepting numbers the government throws around.
A perfect example is inflation rates. I can tell immediatly if a talking head does the grocery shopping.
