RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Suncor really does not like being told what to doDonwaan.....the key difference here is that Governments need to butt out and let the business ecosystem and natural market forces work.  In the case of SU, with the electric  highway and net zero (eg the Pathways Alliance), it seems to me that SU has made a business decision that such activities make economic and business sense and that is why they are doing it which is the way it should be.

As I have said many times, Governments interferring with the business ecosystem just create problems in same way as people who try to interfere with the natural/environmental ecosystem.

So right now we are told that climate change is an "existential threat" to humanity and this is an excuse for greater Government control over our lives (read Marxism).  When I was a teenager, the existential threat was nuclear war and we had silly drills like hiding under your desk.  Did we get a nuclear war?.....Nope....Is one likely to happen in the rest of my lifetime?....not likely

The Club of Rome in 1972 pretty much said it all.  We will hit limits to growth (read too many people) and the natural environment will solve the problem.  The dinasaurs didn't become extinct because they didn't enact climate change policies.

To me that what is going on and climate policies like what Biden is doing and Trudeau is doing won't solve the problem and in reality just put their citizens at an economic disadvantage to those countries that base their policies on actual basic economics.
