RE:Incredibly lower insider ownership. Why?first of all, agree. It would be good to have a compelling reason from MGM why they havent invested much in their company.
Other than wild speculations, here are 2 reasonable possible explanations:
- stock option plan. The company has an stock option plan and can allocate shares at an discounted rate to employyes to a maximum of 100 million shares over a period of time. So there is plenty of fish in the sea just paitently waiting for mgm
- insider trade and IPO. You all really need to understand, that the quiet periode during the IPO was the reason MGM did nothing over the course of the IPO. Its a shame it was not better comunicated to us or achieved much faster/appropriate. The company was working on the IPO since share buy back 1.
my speculative conclusion:
- the shareholder mayority is adequatly informed over everything. There were early discussions on how to benefit the shareholders, since the IPO was done. I think MGM did want to buy lagrge quantities of shares due to the risk of an Insider trade accusation. More so, since with the stock option plan, they can benefit themselfs without the risk of breaking insider trage regulations.
we will know, how mgm will benefit shareholders latest by 11.06 when the AGM items are published.
