Ironically, the risk of a takeover, especially a hostile takeover, is relatively low. Having Ccori Apu in for 20% means that they are blocked from voting if they were to go hostile, because they have 2 board seats and 20% of shares they can’t vote in that event. Conversely, if another company tries to go hostile, Ccori Apu can block it with their 20% and 2 board seats. So having them on board and in the ownership is very helpful to prevent hostile bids. Further, hostile takeovers are incredibly rare in this macro environment, certainly much less common than they were a decade ago. Acquiring companies have a hard enough time convincing their own shareholders to approve friendly acquisitions.
