LUCK OF THE DOUBLE SIDED COIN Luck of the Platinum coin that is.... Whether
Electrolysis or
PEM = Each require the platinum.
Energy transition to trigger huge growth in platinum for hydrogen
Platinum will be key to making clean hydrogen technologies competitive – but the rush to acquire it is set to pile pressure on limited supplies.
Clean hydrogen can be made from decarbonized gas or manufactured using an
electrolyzer powered by renewables, to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. There are various types of electrolyzer on the market today, but
according to the IEA, hydrogen project developers are increasingly favoring proton exchange membrane
(PEM) electrolysis, which is
more efficient than alternatives such as alkaline electrolysis. Many PEM electrolyzers use platinum to make
extremely high-performance catalysts.
The efficiency and longevity of platinum-based PEM electrolyzers
could therefore play an important part in pushing down the cost of clean hydrogen.
But this precious metal will be more useful in the energy transition in more ways than one. Platinum – already used to reduce transport emissions with catalytic converters in cars – is also found in PEM fuel cells. These operate like PEM electrolyzers in reverse to combine hydrogen and oxygen, also using platinum as a catalyst.

Good news soon ? Or... will the MD&A on Sedar kick in which mentioned - FS study.
Will the 40% pgm's pulled from magnetite using simple magnet ( former MET studies )
be worked on ? Lots of time has passed since last fall ( 2023 )
Could've been done by now had this part of MET studies been worked on.
You know... achieve those expected 90% recoveries from 2015 reports.
Even testing high preasure acid extractions for better nickel recoveries.
Imagine if this was performed prior to, PFS ?
We wouldn't be sitting at these prices.
Why is platinum perferred for hydrogen production ? - more hydrogen yield
- plat is most resistent metal ( longevity, durability )
- plat doesn't create the excess dendrite build up like other metals
- add a magnet ( surrounding ) electolysis = induces hydrogen production
