RE:RE:RE:Regime change in Iran?Fair enough, Raisi was to be one of the candidates to replace Kamenei but that changed with the crash. The question is did they take Raisi out or was it a true accident? What was Raisi and his foreign minister doing flying in very poor weather? Perhaps he wasn't Extreem enough and this shows the west knows little about the inner personal dynamics of Iranian politics.
We can assume that things will not change much at all as Iran is controled by mostly radical, terrorist Islamic clerics and anyone replacing Kamemei will be chosen that has similar domestic and foreign policies. What really matters is the US position towards Iran.
What we have witnessed under the Biden Administration is the pathetic asss kissing that has gotten them nothing except for more oil in the markets to lower gas prices and lower inflation to assist with winning the next election. But that cost has been dear, as Biden also gave them $6 billion for the prisoner exchange, extension of sanction waivers that grants Iran access to $10 billion in previously escrowed funds and increased exports of oil. Iran then takes this money and uses some of it to continue their nuclear program, fund Hamas, Hezbollah and Russia.
I think the question is not if things change in Iran because they likely won't have an epiphany moment and decide to play nice. As we have witnessed the Iran/Hamas propaganda effort working better than even they could have imagined and they will continue to take advantage of a perceived weak US to advance their interests in the region and globally.
