TD Securities analyst Vince Valentini has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Telus. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Valentini gave his share target a $2 boost to $27. Analysts on average target the shares at $25.35. Mr. Valentini says in a note: "We have introduced 2026 estimates to show that Telus can sustain 7-per-cent dividend growth with both declining debt leverage and a lower dividend payout ratio. 6.9-per-cent dividend yield is way too high and opex/capex benefits of FTTH deserve more credit from investors." The Globe reported on Jan. 5, Feb. 13 and April 18 that Scotia Capital analyst Maher Yaghi continued to rate Telus "sector outperform." It was then worth $23.87, $23.71 and $21.69. The Globe reported on May 10 that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil had reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Telus. The shares could then be had for $22.01.
