RE:Cogeneration Project Nears Finish Line

RE:Cogeneration Project Nears Finish Line- NOT ONLY REDUCING NASTY POLLUTANTS {CO2 is NOT a NASTY POLLUTANT} but GENERATING SIZEABLE REVENUES from SELLING ELECTRIC CURRENT into the Alberta GRID

- look at MEG Energy for comparison:

* 2 X 101 MW co-generation plants (Christina Lake)

Suncor Energy BASE PLANT co-generation:

* 2 X 402 MW co-generation plants

- what is NOT usually MENTIONED in the NEWS RELEASES is that they had to BUILD NEW
HIGH-VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION LINE CONNECTIONS in order to ACCESS the Alberta ELECTRIC GRID

^^^

Suncor Base Plant Cogeneration Facility Connection (2082)

Suncor Energy Inc.(Suncor) has applied to the AESO for transmission system access to connect its approved Suncor Base Plant Cogeneration Facility(Facility) in the Fort McMurray area. Suncor’s request can be met by the following solution:

  • Add two 240 kilovolt (kV) circuits to connect the existing Voyageur 29EDD-94 substation to the existing Thickwood Hills 951S substation.
  • Modify the Thickwood Hills 951S substation, including adding three 240 kV circuit breakers.
  • Add or modify associated equipment as required for the above transmission developments.

-
you DON'T pull ELECTRICITY OUT of THIN AIR

- GENERATING, TRANSMITTING and DISTRIBUTING electricity is a VERY CAPITAL-INTENSIVE and HIGLY-ENGINEERED PROCESS
