RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Soaking up sharesRomulus: There seems to be a misconception as to the / any deal mechanics. While Peter could be initiating some sort of a deal (stage 1) , he would need BOD approval to bring it to a shareholders’ vote (stage 2). The BOD would have to tread very carefully in light of fiduciary duty regulations. Only if approved by the BOD, can a deal be put forth to a shareholders’ vote (stage 3) and to do so would be rather foolish unless they have the support of major shareholders. Are there any aside from MSG? Does anyone know?
There is the theory of MSG or an affiliated company buying XTRA. The wrinkle in this case, MSG would not be allowed to vote their shares thus throwing the onus back onto retail shareholders. That is unless there is another major shareholder I don’t know about. Looking at the trading from the middle of April (start of the dump) to date, there is no one who could have accumulated a meaningful position.
