RE:RE:Citizen
I'm not going to tell you to get out of the country....not permanently anyway but encourage to visit other countries or at the very least read up on what's happening around the world.
"Destroyed the CAD" ??? Say what? It's trading at 73 today....its historical "fair value" is 74 to75.
The US dollar has soared this past year against ALL currencies...so I guess the world could say its "dollar" has been destroyed too (???) Not sure what Trudeau has to do with ANY of that anyway.
Every country experienced high inflation, in this country it's back down to 3% and wage growth has been constant at 5%+ since the end of the pandemic. Large homeless populations first made headlines in the US a few years ago...and now we have them here as well. I have not heard Polievre's fix on that. Have you?
In 2008, after years of studies, Canada formally adopted a policy of taking in 1% of its population in immigrants every year. Harper was PM, Kenney was his Immigration Minister. There are two full scale wars going on right now and that has caused the policy target to be overshot lately. It's something that can be fixed and is being fixed.
You may think Trudeau has been attacking the canadian oil and gas sector....yet canadian production has gone up over 30% while he's been in office and it keeps rising at a steady pace. Oil sands operators say they will increase their production by 20% now that TMX is built and operating. Who did that, despite stiff oppostion from BC politicians??? I (and you) forget, I guess. Coastal Gaslink will sart up next year drawing tons of gas out of the basin so production can rise some more....
Canadian oil and gas companies are swimming in cash...their stocks making new highs...paying never before seen dividends to their shareholders...BC and AB governments are flush with royalty cash these days. If Trudeau was out to DESTROY the oil industry he sure did a LOUSY job of that, eh? There ya go....another of his "fails" ! Fill your boots.
We may very well have a Conservative government next time. I don't see a lot of changes coming out of that though. Canada was, is and will be a great country no matter how loud the bellyaching gets.
Employment is still below our "full employment" line...buildings are going up EVERYWHERE, new car sales have been up every month this year over the same period last year and those were up over the same year before that one !! It's a clear UPWARD trajectory....and I'm supposed to believe the country is "destroyed" economically??? Anybody that buys into that pessismism (sold by some polliticians) wasn't around in the 1980s, brother!
