re: monitoring fleet utilization and growthStill watching as things unfold for Jetlines.
If memory serves, a fleet of six was announced in January, with two of them to be sent to Europe in a wet lease arrangement (with Corendon as it turns out).
At one point, three were flying here in North America to primarily vacation destinations. That seasonal business has cooled and there are now two planes flying a lighter schedule.
The fourth plane, in Europe, is making two there-and-back round trips on most days. It flies out of Maastricht principally, though it sometimes hops over to Amsterdam to fly from there.
New destinations over the last ten days or so include: Rhodes, Kos, Palma de Mallorca, Vienna and Malaga. The most flown-to destinations are Zakynthos, Heraklion and Antalya.
In the Q1 report,
"Eddy Doyle, CEO and President of Canada Jetlines commented, "This quarter, we are pleased to announce that Canada Jetlines has achieved significant milestones in expanding our operations and enhancing our fleet to meet the growing demand for leisure air travel. With our fifth and sixth aircraft being delivered in the second quarter of 2024, new strategic wet lease agreements, and the upcoming launch of our new Toronto to Miami route in June 2024, we are well positioned to offer Canadians exceptional vacation options and travel experiences.""
Also news,
"Eddy Doyle, the Company's current CEO, will retire as of June 30, 2024". No indication as to how this will figure in as yet.
