RE:RE:Shorts…To further elaborate the lending brokers see the shorter as a valuable customer so they may bend over backswards to assist him in selecting viable short candidates by providing valuable statistical information from within that firm . The shorter might collect such information from several firms . The information is fed into some computer that adds a bunch of stats about the companies , trading stats etc. Then the computer spits out its recommended short portfolio . THe PM may select which info. he wishes to weigh the most that is fed into the computer . After that the PM just goes with what the computer says or rightly or wrongly adds some subjective adjustment on his own after that . The portfolio then would be adjusted weekly or monthly or whatever .
