More work...Most of you know that AtkinsRealis(The old SNC) as given a lot of steel structure work to
Canam. Will Canam get the steel component work of this project(see below)?.Your guess is as good as mine.
My point is that the more work Canam gets, the less capacity they will have to compete with DRX.
I told you that i went to the AGM with 12 questions (on a one on one basis).
One of them was who are your biggest competitors.I surely thought that Canam would
be at the top of the list. They said that while Canam is a competitor, they do work with them
and get and give them work.
They told me that Canam was very strong in bridge, joist and steel deck(two products that DRX does not make.Recently, Canam won the Olympic stadium refection. That will keep them busy.
I also ask if they would consider another Zebau line addition.they said not at the moment
because with the right mix, they could bring the sales to 1 billion with the existing facility.
Having 2 very modern plants, capex needs will be very for the next ffew years witch will add
to cash flow.
Their teck guy told me that he was looking at another piece of equipment that would
keep them ahead of the competition. He did not want to elaborate on the nature of that
new piece of equipment but said that they were in the evaluation phase of it and that
they were going to visit the manufacturer of it next month.
