RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:cj and my portfolioThanks for your post = Bang on - and to add, now that capital gains is going to be taxed, much heavier, dividend stocks will become more favourable than capital gains type stocks like ATH
It might take a while for people to figure out this tax advantage or shift…H3LL, we are getting close to 11% now… Most investors are happy with a combined capital gains and dividend income of 12% per year as a return…
Ex dividend is tomorrow so essentially any purchase today gets the extra divy.

I also internally realized all corporate gains so I can continue to hold and collect the dividend.
There is no doubt the new capital gains tax had an impact on the share price of many energy stocks last week. Check out the Friday volume. No buyers and all sellers. Monday price bounced as everyone tried to rebuy and there were no more sellers. It was a buying opportunity for all. That is why I did these transactions internally so I didnt need to take on any risk of losing out on a rebound.
I hold nearly 500,000 shares and it would be nearly impossible to realize the gains on the open market given the average volumes. Happy to collect the dividend every month. Not even needing any further gains from here if the sustainable dividend remains.
