Business aviation services company Phenix Jet (RKS, Teterboro) says two Bombardier Business Aircraft Global 8000s will join the fleet in 2026, adding to the 19 aircraft it currently manages. In addition, it says it has obtained approval for flights through the Arctic and Antarctic regions, helping to offset challenges caused by Russian airspace restrictions.
In a June 27, 2024, statement marking the flight approvals, Phenix Jet confirmed the 2026 arrival date for the ultra-long-range business jet that Bombardier intends to start rolling off the assembly line next year. The airline already has six Global 7500s on its books, including two inductions earlier this year. The operator, owned by Japan's Sojitz Corporation, has US and Cayman Islands air operator certificates, bases in Cayman, Hong Kong International, and Tokyo Narita, plus staff and crew based in Guam International, Teterboro, and the Philippines.
Aside from the larger Global 7500s, ch-aviation fleets data indicates that one or more Global 6500s, 6000s, different types of Gulfstream 650s, a Dassault Aviation Falcon 900B, a Cessna Citation, and a B737-700(BBJ) are spread across both AOCs.
With aircraft capable of flying between North Asian ports and Western European destinations, the closure of Russian airspace posed a significant issue for Phenix Jet, something it now says is resolved with the new rights to overfly the polar regions.
