Victoria Gold Corp VITFF

Victoria Gold Corp. is a gold mining company. The Company’s flagship asset is its 100% owned Dublin Gulch property, which hosts the Eagle, Olive and Raven gold deposits along with numerous targets along the Potato Hills Trend including Nugget, Lynx and Rex Peso. Dublin Gulch is situated in the central Yukon, Canada, approximately 375 kilometers (km) north of the capital city of Whitehorse. The property covers an area of approximately 555 square kilometers and is the site of the Company's Eagle and Olive Gold Deposits. It also holds a suite of other development and exploration properties in the Yukon, including Brewery Creek, Clear Creek, Gold Dome and Grew Creek. The Eagle West target area lies as close as 500 meters northwest of the main Eagle Gold Deposit and hosts the exposures of the granodiorite. The Raven target is located at the contact zone at the extreme southeastern portion of the Nugget Stock. The Brewery Creek Project is a past producing heap leach gold mining operation.

RE:RE:New Press Release - Victoria Gold Provides Update on Eagle Gold Mine Incident

RE:RE:New Press Release - Victoria Gold Provides Update on Eagle Gold Mine IncidentAnyone else notice this?  The use of these particular words in the VG news release is interesting as it seems to be good news in a hidden message kind of way:

"With respect to environmental mitigation, within hours of the incident a pumping system was established to return water from the HLF material to lined containment ponds. Diversion systems have also been installed for the management of both non-contact and contact water and material. To date, continued environmental surface water quality sampling at multiple points downstream of the property has not detected any cyanide."

Suggests to me at least that the whatever liquids that left containment is water (apparently confirmed by returned samples) and that ONLY water came with / from the slide material  This also suggests that the HLF pad liner is still intact and NOT leaking contaminated solution and that the slide material jumped the HLF barrier wall as was previously reported by Mining officials in the initial public statement.

Next step, let's see if the same clear water test sample results are publicly announced by the Yukon authorities Technical Team later today.  And then see how the FN Chief reacts to this new information and what counter water results their expert(s) have come up with.  Of course the FN Chief walking back her claim that this was an "environmental catastrophe" is going to be slow as they will need to save face.  Guessing they'll soon be announcing that they don't trust the company or the Yukon Mining authorities and way more water testing is needed.  That it's way too early to rule out that this hasn't killed thousands of salmon, wildlife, mosquitos, etc, etc.  so don't expect a quick miracle here folks.  In the end if there is no environmental damage or damage that can easily be remediated FN is going to have a tough time shutting down this mine because the lawsuits against FN and the Yukon Government bgt the company and investors would be substantial.

In the meantine, maybe VG can start rebuilding the slope failure area with all that waste rock they've been stockpiling for months now...they certainly have enough waste material...Lol.

All my opinion only, a good first step but a long road to travel yet!
