Tilray Further Invested into German & EU Pharmacies posted on Weedstocks a lengthy article discussing recent German Medical Cannabis Legalization and ease of accessing medical cannabis: [Germany]„Getting Medical Cannabis is as Easy as getting Ibuprofen 600“ https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/1dv1d4b/germanygetting_medical_cannabis_is_as_easy_as/
I knew Tilray / Aphria have been investing in the German & EU markets since 2018, with 'In Country' massive licensed GMP certified medical cannabis facilities, CC Pharma, etc but these articles shows Tilray as being in the Pharmacy business as well, which is something I never knew.
"The video consultations are facilitated by platforms such as Bloomwell, Kanna Medics, and Canify. Bloomwell alone claims to collaborate with over 65 doctors. Like its competitors, the company is looking for more licensed general practitioners willing to offer cannabis consultations. In the end-customer distribution, alongside smaller pharmacies, large specialized providers are particularly active: for example, Grnhorn Apotheke and Grne Brise. These are backed by major players in the business: Grne Brise belongs to the Bloomwell Group, while Grnhorn is part of the publicly traded cannabis company Tilray. In Canada and several U.S. states, Tilray also markets and promotes cannabis for recreational use, as it is legal there." https://www.gruenhorn.de/
"The providers of the relevant training courses are partly directly connected to the manufacturers of medical cannabis. For example, a course offered by the Frankfurt-based company Hormosan Pharma GmbH, specializing in pain therapies and partnered with Tilray since 2021, can be found with a quick Google search." https://ir.tilray.com/news-releases/news-release-details/tilray-inc-and-hormosan-sign-cooperation-agreement-promotion
Irwin Simon stated just a couple of months ago that Tilray has plans for 'Medmen' in Germany, EU. Numerous CEO's in Germany have stated small pharmacies are popping up thru out Germany just to get in on the lucrative medical cannabis sales business, as sales are only being sold thru licensed pharmacies. No USA style 'Pot Shops run by Pot Heads'. I think franchising Medmen with these many small medical cannabis pharmacies could be a real windfall. Aphria/Tilray is also a major investor in High Tide that could be brought in as well. IT'S A GROWING INDUSTRY
In germany currently its absolutely easy to get a prescription online.
Since July 1st there are so called “cannabis social clubs”. These are clubs with no commercial interest. You pay a monthly fee to become a member. As a member you receive a maximum of 50 grams per month, which you also have to pay for and collect it.
In my opinion, its much easier to get a prescription online with a few clicks and for 10 euros and order the weed you want from a cannabis pharmacy delivered to your door online.
Additionally, in Germany you are allowed to grow three plants for your own use. Possession of a maximum of 50 grams is a misdemeanor and is punishable by high fines. You can carry a maximum of 25 grams with you while on the move.
German cannabis distributors from Cantourage CEO, Bloomwell CEO were on Zuanic podcast a month or so ago and predicted the clubs will end up just being a passing fad. I'm glad its a growing medical cannabis market over there. I hope edibles allowed soon as I can see Tilray bringing over their Infused Cannabis Drinks. I think German's even from Bavaria would enjoy.
