Following this statement hydrogen fuel might not be necessarily feasible and compatible as today technology but may be it will take two or three decades for design, grapting and development also financing the project. The space scientists are perhaps expressing concerns about that because the H is extremely volatile and expensive fuel to produce. Keep the kerone as all planes were running over hundred years already.  Would you think travelers might have a 2nd opinion concerning this option ?
