So what is the truth here? and is there any interagency cooperation or coordination going on within this so called incident command?
After waiting aweek, VG releases news that the watersheds are safe based on their sample testing. Huge sigh of relief, and assumptions why share price jumped 30% prior to the announcement
A couple hours later Yukon Minister of Energy cyanide foud in watershed and say fish are in danger based on their sample testing and not to drink the water. He said he warned FNNN of this concern the night before.
At the end of the press conference, Cord Hamilton, an engineer working with First Nation, said there was no doubt cyanide solution was released into the environment.
FNNN jumps all over the news and demands all gold mining in Yukon should be halted and the share price drops.
VG is labelled a liar by many, and accused of trying to conceal test results
Yukons CMO announces it is very reassuring the samples taken by Dept of Environmental are of no concern
“Dr. Sudit Ranade, Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health made the comment during a news briefing after the results of water samples taken after the accident on June 24 were received this week from a laboratory in British Columbia.
“It’s very reassuring that the water samples that have come back from the regulated drinking water system show no concern, and that is also backed by the watershed analysis that’s been done by the Department of Environment,” Ranade said.”

Then it is reported:
"Cleaning the site is a top priority for everyone involved. At yesterday’s briefing, Energy, Mines, and Resources Minister John Streicker provided updates on water sample results taken near the mine; four of which came back positive for cyanide. Water tested in Haggart Creek showed a cyanide level of 0.04 milligrams per litre, which Streicker said could affect fish.
While Haggart Creek is not used as a drinking source, Yukon’s chief medical officer of health Sudit Ranade has recommended that people stay away from the immediate vicinity for recreational purposes."

"Marcello M. Veiga, a retired UBC mining engineering professor, said cyanide levels above 0.05 can affect fish’s ability to swim. He said elevated levels of cyanide in the creek could impact fish. However, he’s doubtful the levels found are high enough to cause fish to die.
He noted cyanide tends to dissolve quickly in water and that it can be destroyed naturally on dry ground by the sun’s UV rays, as well as through oxidation.
Veiga said only long-term testing can confirm the level of toxicity in the creek"
Someone needs to lose their job over this collosal Chitstorm of misinformation being presented by the government?
