Vessel LiabilityThere is no crossing fingers at this point LOL, if need to it'spast time to BAIL on yet another material VLE failure. This vessel was extensively refurbished delivered several months late costing VLE 400K bbl cash flow. The late delivery was likely due to mid works discovered deficiencies which usually happens on all heavy refurbs.
It was recertified at this time. Subsequently it was hit by another vessel, plus one of the moorings broke stressing remaining anchor points.
One cannot beat aging and metal fatigue. Once the metal starts cracking and fatiguing it increases stresses on rest of fatigued vessel.
There's a reason oil tankers are usually scrapped at 20-25 years lifespan.
This vessel is as good as scrap.
