Looking more into EarthGrid, note that they have been granted utility status with a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) in 37 States, with more on the way:

By registering as a utility and obtaining a CPCN, EarthGrid has an increased likelihood of being granted Right of Way (ROW) permits along state and county roads for underground conduits, utility lines, etc. Having ROW access can mean the difference between a project being completed quickly — or never getting out of the chute.

State departments of transportation (e.g., DOT, Caltrans, etc.) consider companies with a CPCN more favorably. They are more likely to grant ROW access for utility lines, as long as the applications for ROW do not unreasonably interfere with the operation of the affected or adjacent transportation corridor.

Pay attention to Fig 2 (from the patent link above^^):

Note the patent which @helloween references below clearly shows a non-transferred Arc Plasma Torch (APT) from PyroGenesis (small typo in the patent) is used. 

It doesn't get much clearer than this:

@helloween From Earthgrid 2021 patent application for a tunnel boring system (WO2022154911A1) which is different from the patent owned by Arcbyt filed in 2018 (WO2020101666A1) : "[0042] Figure 2 is a side view of one embodiment of the tunnel boring system. The cutting head 210 is attached to the cutting assembly 220. The cutting head 210 includes torches and nozzles for a stream of air and/or water, to assist with the boring. The power, and air/water are fed to cutting assembly 220 via umbilicals 245. In one embodiment, a non-transferred Arc Plasma Torch (APT) from PYPROGENSIS™ is used."

And I repeat myself; let's say 1 project per state with 5 torches.
That's a lot of torches.
And one torch at 2.6 Mil = much money.
And maintenance and consulting and spare parts.

One crucial contract for this division and not only the contract value but also future expectations will drive the SP.
