Your money (investment in "The Yukon" ;)) is always at risk.

Your money (investment in "The Yukon" ;)) is always at risk.kegman, thanks

I would like to add to this:

This is all IMO and some light entertainment reading while your waking up from a nice peacefull sleep dreaming of great investments i The Yukon. ;)  BUT wait. :)

Just in case there are any  new "investors" here that decide to "invest" in any of the mining plays in The Yukon.  And there are a lot.  Think.

It's a great territory and great ppl.  BUT in case you stumbled onto this board with a get rich quick glint in your eye read on and be amused or not.

YOUR MONEY IS ALWAYS AT RISK! Promo artists abound, it's like they hit the Klondike went up rabbit creek and the Silver Trail to Sign Post and got wierd. lol  It's like the commercial you know the  "hands in your pockets" one.   lol

  1. Mining in the Yukon is called gambling.  It's like going to the Casino, if you like Poker your gonna love Yukon mining;)
  2. Very few mines actually go from "discovery" to production
  3. They can easiry take 10 to 15 years to go from "discovery" to production if ever
  4. All mining plays are at risk of being "cancelled" at any time during this period and after while in production.
  5. Look and research the ppl that are involved, do they have a solid track record or just pop up.  Are they involved in other junior companies, a lot of them are
  6. If it's an exploratory mining "company" it wants your investment and then your at the mercy off the "promo" news releases by the "artists".
  7. If this exploration is by a "junior" like few million stay away (unless high risk high stakes is your play) , you are financing some people running around with picks poking around making noise about how much they can see on the surface and cliffs with massive ore deposits suggestions based on whats pokin out of rhe ground.
  8. If the company only has one mine and low grade per ton, it's HIgh Risk to processing and market sale price condtions , especially if it's a new one.
  9. When shares are issued they take a quick bump, then get hyped (promo artists) and increase over a year or two then they take a LONG slide down and level for said 10 to 15 years, if your mine becomes productive and profits are realized your investment will start going up.  ;)  There are exceptions but they are like chaff in the wind. ;)
  10. As an aside it your follow YTG politics it appears council loves the influx of investor capital for exploration, pokin holes and promo as there is relatively low env. risk.  Just follow any of the retoric regards mines near Whitehorse, you might a feel for the "state of the territory"
  11. I won't list the comapanies but do some research and find out who and what they are and how rock solid they are.
  12. You will see a lot of pretty pictures on the internet, like hills with drills in the autumn leaves, geo's looking at what looks like outcroppings of gold or whatever it's what they do.  Then you have the promo's showing how great the view is or how great the core looks blah blah blah that indicate so much per ton or whatever.  So what untill it's in the bank it's high risk.
It's The Yukon  "Larger than Life"  It's a gamblers paradise, nothing wrong with that just know the gamblers game.  :)

Any and all comment welcome.

Best
