SMM have experience getting plants to run rates with accepts yields. There is zero chance that Nano can build a plant that size and getting it running to acceptable reject rates on their own. Even with the team from Candiac Nano would have no chance of getting a plant to commercial yield (I.e., acceptable reject rates) without someone like SMM supporting them
"If you want to be competitive with the Asians in terms of e-car batteries, the reject rates in production must be reduced to a minimum, and you don't learn that in the laboratory, only in the factory," says Fichtner.
