Recovery rate and further comparisons

Recovery rate and further comparisonsMJS reports a strong recovery rate of 95%, so I wondered if La Yaqui Grande had inferior recovery, but that's not so. Latest quarter states a recovery rate of 120.8%. For the same period in 2023 grade was higher at 1.55 g/t Au but recovery was only 75%. MJS' mine also is producing much less than La Yaqui. MJS: "Gold production was 7,942 ounces for the first quarter of FY2024." La Yaqui:

"La Yaqui Grande produced 50,000 ounces in the first quarter, exceeding expectations, and an increase of 30% compared to the prior year period. Recovery rates averaged 121%, well above annual guidance, benefiting from the recovery of higher grade ore stacked in the latter part of 2023. Grades stacked averaged 1.31 g/t Au in the quarter, in line with guidance. Stacking rates of 10,800 tpd in the first quarter were above annual guidance, but are expected to average 10,000 tpd for the remainder of the year."

So Yaqui is producing more than 8X the gold per quarter at a much higher grade and superior recovery, yet cash costs per ounce are about the same. Is that realistic? I'm not being rhetorical. I don't know. La Yaqui's waste to ore ratio in the latest quarter: 4.13. MJS' is almost 70?

Also noticed the open mine grade being mined has been only 0.49 g/t Au. It is brought up somewhat by the 1.72 g/t Au for the smaller underground mine.
