@ordos @Embers Considering that Evonik is the one pushing HPQ Silicon to accelerate with the FSR (according to Bernard's last interview), they would deploy maximum help to see the pilot plant go online successfully. Knowing how responsible and methodical is Pyrogenesis, they wouldn't bend to pressure and compromise quality and reliability of a system. I am sure Evonik will appreciate that once the system comes online, which it will.

@ordos There is a very important point about commercial FSR that some may not realize. I think Bernard mentioned it in one of the few last interviews. A commercial FSR may not be just 1 reactor, but multiple reactors. So scaling further the pilot FSR of 50 TPY doesn't need to be x20 to get to the commercial 1,000 TPY, it can be just x4 to get to 200 TPY and then have 5 of these 200 TPY FSRs for a single 1,000 TPY commercial plant. This results in multiple advantages: 1. Simplified scaling, beyond pilot 50 TPY, e.g. not having to build 1 single scaled larger reactor producing x20 of material 2. Increases the reliability of a commercial plant, as if 1 reactor goes out of order or needs maintenance, the rest will keep working and producing product 3. Incremental scalability and lowering further the entry barrier. Whereas you may not be able to afford a 1,000 TPY commercial system, but you could afford to buy a 200 TPY commercial system, 5 times cheaper and become a fumed silica producer for your own needs or for sale


@ordos For FSR it will be the entire system that Pyrogenesis will build (as far as I understand), so from sales perspective it doesn't matter how many torches, they will get paid for the entire system. From technical interest perspective it is indeed interesting to know the design, including the number of torches, and how it will look like.
