RE:The Latham statement about the decision The Tribunal accepted Latham’s arguments that Eco Oro had failed to prove that it would have secured an environmental license but for Colombia’s breach, and that the lost opportunity to apply for such a license had any value.
Are we to conclude that EOM never had any environmental approval in the first place. Who's so foolish to start legal proceedings against Colombia without obtaining all the necessary licences. Are EOM past and current management and Tenor's legal team be that stupid. Were they just try their luck? Was an environmental licence necessary and part of the authorities mining process. The question I'm asking is, did EOM obtain the authorities' approval to mine whether with or without the environmental licence. EOM {Greystar} was initiated years ago when the rules and mining processes were different and environment was not such a sensitive issue. Getting an environmetal licence may not part of the process.
