Opinion regarding NFG and Eric from another boardSo people do know and are aware of this company, and there are many different perceptions. Here is one of them.
A word to the wise. I have nothing but good thoughts towards Eric Sprott. I have listened to him on numerous occasions, and he is knowledgeable and shrewd. I also believe that he is an individual of high integrity. But folks would be wise to understand that Mr. Sprott is a very diversified speculator. It's clear to me that his strategy calls for making many prudent speculations and knowing that only some will go well. I infer that he believes (and has a track record in support of his belief) that the big winners will more than adequately offset the losers. An investor/speculator of more modest means, who selects a few companies because Mr. Sprott has taken positions in them, may find himself owning the ones that underperform. Take a look at NFG. How many people bought into the story because Mr. Sprott is there? Maybe someday, it will be a winner, but it has been, for a couple of years at least, a major "money pit" for those who followed Mr. Sprott into it.
