I remember you asked about how deep folks mine in Canada...
Here are some results from Amex (PR released today), I do not own (see below). Take note of the grades but more importantly the drilling depths.
Some of these holes are twice as deep as any hole evee drilled at Goldboro...which I have said before is an underground gold mine with now 3 open pits on surface (200 to 250m deep max). The pits are just the top 1/4 (minimum) of the deposit that has a long overdue mineral resource number pending.

Highlights include: High-Grade Zone - PE-21-347W5 returned 6.35 m of 30.85 g/t Au including 0.50 m of 342.10 g/t Au at a vertical depth of ~1100 m
- PE-21-347W4 returned 7.80 m of 7.36 g/t Au including 0.70 m of 70.32 g/t Au at a vertical depth of ~970 m
Denise Zone - PE-20-186W2 returned 2.15 m of 16.58 g/t Au including 0.50 m of 66.35 g/t Au at a vertical depth of ~900 m
- PE-21-347W5 returned 58.50 m of 0.71 g/t Au including 3.00 m of 8.31 g/t Au at a vertical depth of ~1150 m
